Moldova is a very thickly populated country. The population of Moldova is cosmopolitan in nature consisting people from various ethnic groups. In Moldova Christianity predominates. Around 96 percent of the population belongs to the Eastern Orthodox Church. Moldova again claims to have the rate of 100% adult literacy. An ancient folk ballade 'Miorita' occupies an eminent position in Moldovan folk culture.
